Weekly Poem

Weekly poem

WALT read a poem and analyse the language features of a poem.

What makes a person more Beautiful & Attractive
is a genuine smile.
A bright shining soul that shines brighter than the sun, that can travel unlimited miles.
One who spreads Positivity & Love when they can,
and gives… Without a palms up hand.
Generosity,Understanding,Kindness,a sense of humour.
Someone that does Not spread hurtful rumours.
Someone who is confident, self loving, but does not brag about.
Someone who thinks shes beautiful inside ,& knows we are all equal,
Gods people without a doubt!
Always seek in life to Beautify Yourself & Others too…
So they may pay it forward &
be inspired by what they saw you do.
What beautiful people we’ll have to look toward too!
Endless Blessings & good karma will be bestowed on you.
Infect & scatter joy & positivity…
Not pain, hate and negativity!

1. Summarise the poem you have read in your own words.
  • The poem I read this week is about beauty. It dosent matter what  is outside of your body, it maters what is inside. This means people that have great personality even if their pretty or not. e.g People go for the look’s of other people but I think people should go for what's inside them get to know them then you will really know what he/she is like.

2. Identify at least 2 different language features in the poem and give examples. You can identify more than 2 language features.

  • One of the language features in this poem is a _ Simile____. Here is an example of this language feature A bright shining soul that shines brighter than the sun
  • Another language feature in this poem is a ___Metaphors__ .Here is an example of this language feature One who spreads Positivity

3. Evaluate (which means reflect and give your opinion) the author’s purpose for writing this poem - in your answers include the words: inform, entertain, persuade.

  • By analysing the poem I have read this week I think the author wrote this poem because she thinks people should not always feel beautiful on the outside they should always feel beautiful in the inside as well.
  • The author was informing the audience about beauty, it doesn't matter about the beauty outside of you it matters about the beauty within you.
  • The author was entertaining the audience by Describing how a person can be beautiful. (emotions/language features)
  • The author is trying to persuade the audience to believe that they are beautiful no matter what anyone says.

4. Add a picture on your Doc related to your poem.
